The SAFE AI project (“Solutions to AI-Facilitated Evils: Adolescent-led Innovations”) aims to prevent online gender-based violence among children and young people through innovative, youth‑led solutions. The project brings together organizations and experts from France, Bulgaria, Portugal, Denmark and North Macedonia to create educational resources, digital self‑protection tools and safe online spaces.
PULSE Foundation is a partner in the project, contributing its long‑standing experience in supporting women, children and vulnerable groups affected by violence. Within the initiative, interactive workshops, training materials, web resources and support networks will be developed for young people aged 13–17, with a focus on digital safety, recognizing deepfakes and protection from online manipulation.
SAFE AI promotes the development of resilience, critical thinking and skills for safe online communication, placing young people at the center of creating solutions against online violence.
The project activities are aimed at:
- Young people aged 13–17
- Girls and young women
- LGBTQIA+ youth
- Youth from vulnerable communities
- Teachers, youth workers and parents
The activities are grouped into 5 thematic work packages:
- WP1 – Project coordination and management
- WP2 – Development and piloting of educational workshops
- WP3 – Resource centre for safe spaces
- WP4 – Building networks for safe spaces
- WP5 – Communication and dissemination
Expected results:
- Increased awareness of online violence and AI‑related risks
- Development of digital safety skills among young people
- Creation of innovative educational resources and tools
- Building support networks and a safe online environment
- Strengthening the capacity of specialists, teachers and youth workers to address the topic
