PULSE Foundation has launched a project "Program for prevention, rehabilitation, and integration of victims and perpetrators of domestic violence and sensitization of the family and society on the issue" which is implemented with a grant agreement with reg. № 93-00-274/17.08.2021, concluded with the Ministry of Justice.
The duration of the project is four months (August - November 2021) and aims to:
- To optimize the work and efficiency of social services in cases of domestic violence, by creating conditions for equality and equal access to justice and highly qualified programs for rehabilitation and reintegration into society in small settlements and places without operating service.
- To upgrade the program for psychological, social and legal support of perpetrators of domestic violence, based on a multidisciplinary approach to work (case management) and an operational inter-institutional network at national level.
- Prevention of domestic violence and its reproduction in communication between people, creating conditions for breaking the model of tolerance and sensitizing society to the leading factors of the problem, its spread, and coping models. Activities include upgrading the program for psychological, social, and legal support for perpetrators of domestic violence, based on a multidisciplinary approach to work and an operational inter-institutional network at the national level.
Expected results:
- Providing 24-hour services to support people affected by violence
- Sustainable program development for working with victims of violence.
- Counseling perpetrators of violence.
- Effective interinstitutional network.
- Building effective structures and relations of effective cooperation in the town of Breznik and Kardzhali.
- Optimization of electronic forms to seek help, disseminate resources and have questions and answers.
- Interactive online tool to familiarize with policies and practices on domestic violence and gender-based violence.
- Raising the awareness and sensitivity of the general public.
- Issuance of an information brochure with included information about the services of the PULSE Foundation, the National Hotline for Support of Victims of Domestic Violence, and a hotline - local for Kardzhali district.
- Development and distribution of methodology for monitoring domestic and gender-based violence based on quantitative data.
